Documentation Required for shipping personal effects
To ship personal effects as unaccompanied luggage, the following documents are required:
- Copy of your passport
- If shipping on behalf of someone else, their passport copy is also required
- Valued inventory list with:
- Full addresses for both South Africa and destination
- Contact details at destination (telephone, mobile, email)
Accepted Packaging Types
We accept the following packaging formats, provided they are undamaged and securely sealed:
- Bags and suitcases
- Trunks
- Boxes
- Large plastic containers (must be properly closed, sealed, taped, or shrink-wrapped)
Prohibited Items
The following items are not permitted in unaccompanied luggage shipments:
- Medication
- Food products, including:
- Sweets
- Biltong
- Alcoholic beverages
- Canned foods
- Multimedia goods (restrictions vary by country; contact us for guidance):
- CDs
- DVDs (personal copies allowed; commercial content prohibited)
- Disks
- All batteries (special declarations and labeling required; surcharge of R100.00 applies)
- Compressed cans, perfumes, hairsprays, or flammable liquids

Shipping Unaccompanied Personal Effects from South Africa
Required Documentation
To arrange shipment of unaccompanied baggage, the following documents are mandatory:
Copy of your passport for foreigners, copy of ID for SA residents
(If shipping on behalf of someone else, their passport copy is also required)
Detailed inventory list
o Must include full addresses for both origin (South Africa) and destination
o Include contact details at destination: telephone, mobile, and email
